Question Our family [ 2 boys age 8 and 11] will be spending a week in Sunriver in 2 wks. Are there any things in the area that we shouldn't miss when we are there? Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks Jim
Answer Jim,
The High Desert Museum,(north of Sunriver on 97),Newberry National Volcanic Monument,(south of Sunriver off 97),are both good bets for the whole family.For Mom and Dad,Sunriver has Sunfest in June,(food and wine show).

Sunriver is also surrounded by high desert lakes and a beautiful road to see them all from.(Century Drive).Bald Eagles and Osprey abound.Mt.Bachelor has skiing until June,another possibility.And world class fishing,lake and river.
By all means though,rent or bring your bikes.Sunriver is ideal for riding...and they have great kid's programs planned for the whole summer.
