Question my dad has hep C and he has cirrosis....because of that, can i still give him part of my liver and him at least partially heal or live longer? and how would this affect me later in life?
Answer Yes, you can. It may be the best way to ensure he live a longer life. There are a few things you can donate while you are still alive - a kidney, part of a liver (the remainder "grows back" or regenerates), part of a lung, and bone marrow. If you are healthy, you will live a normal life. If for any reason you need a liver transplant (or any transplant) down the line, you will be at the top of the list because you were a donor.
Good luck to you and your dad. You are a great person to consider this.
