Organic Gardens - organic container veggies

Expert: Duane Clupper - 4/29/2004

Question
I would like to sell some already-producing container veggies as organic ,such as tomatoes, but am not sure what soil should I use.  Is all compost considered organic already, or do I need to find certified organic soil? or compost? Thanks for the help!

Answer
Karen

The laws are changing so fast on what can be used in organic food production that I suggest the following

using the Google search engine search for (certified organic laws)

if the law has not been changed  and you sell less then 5,000.00 worth of veggies a year you do not have to go through the inspections  that a larger grower has to go through.

Also i really don't know of any compost sold today that is certified organic---there might be though.

Sorry I can not be of mor help
