Organizing Your Home & Workspace - Assistance with decluttering and organizing

Expert: jack - 10/1/2004

Question
I'm finally facing a serious problem with accumulating stuff and trying to declutter and organize.  I think I need someone's physical assistance with this for two reasons.  First, there are some things that I just can't physically do by myself.  Second, I find that I simply have little desire if I am alone to do a lot of organizing, but if I am with somebody I will stick to the project until it is finished.  I am willing to hire someone, but I don't want to pay for a professional organizer who assigns me homework or tells me what to do.  I need someone who will stay with me while I do it.  Any idea on how to find such a person or any other insights?

Answer
Joe

To answer, "Any idea on how to find such a person or any other insights?":

You should be able to find someone if you will go to the NAPO website - The National Association of Professional Organizers - depending on where you live, they should have someone near you.

As far as other insights, I would need more info from you - are we talking about paper, magazines, articles, files that need organizing - or stuff like old furniture, clothing, tools, etc.? By the way, a garage sale is a great organizer!

If you want to discuss this further, Joe, please contact me at Jackrap1@aol.com  and not this venue - it is just less complicated for me.
