Orthodox Judaism - Prayers

Expert: Rav Ovadiah - 3/19/2007

Question
Hello-

I would like to know which prayers "halachically" a jewish woman must specifically say on a daily basis?

Answer
Thank you for the kind question. Halakhah generally relieves women of time-oriented mitzvoth due to their responsibilities in raising children and keeping a kosher home. As a general ruling, most Poskim agree that Shemoneh Esrei is the minimum prayer required of all Jews, both male and female. If you have time, I'd add the daily Psalm. Hope this helps! Shalom!
