Question Q-If these are to be “perpetual offering”, how are they replaced today by the sons of Aaron? Will they resume once the Third temple is built?
Lev 6:20 This [is] the offering of Aaron and of his sons, which they shall offer unto the LORD in the day when he is anointed; the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a meat offering perpetual, half of it in the morning, and half thereof at night.
Lev 6:22 And the priest of his sons that is anointed in his stead shall offer it: [it is] a statute forever unto the LORD; it shall be wholly burnt.
Lev 7:12 If he offer it for a thanksgiving, then he shall offer with the sacrifice of thanksgiving unleavened cakes mingled with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil, and cakes mingled with oil, of fine flour, fried.
Answer Thank you for the kind question. You asked, "If these are to be “perpetual offering”, how are they replaced today by the sons of Aaron?"
I will let G-d speak for Himself on this matter:
He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the L-rd require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy G-d? (Micha 6:8)
And Samuel said, Hath the L-rd as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the L-rd? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. (1 Samuel 15:22)
Take with you words, and turn to the L-rd: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips. (Hosea 14:2)
"Will they resume once the Third temple is built?"
Many believe they will. I do not (at least not the animal sacrifices), believing them to have served their purpose.
