Question
Respected Sir,
My sister(52 years)occasionally suffers from left side hip cramp/catch,gets stuck MRI done. One Doctor has said no permanent remedy ,only life style changes. No same posture for more than 15 minutes.PLEASE ADVISE
MRI of LUMBOSACRAL SPINE
Technique
T1 weighted and T2 weighted axial and sagittals
Sagittal T2 weighted screening of the Whole Spine
REPORT
Contiguous peridiscal marrow hyper intensities are noted to theL4/L5 vertebrae on both the T1 and T2 weighted sequences-Type-II endplate changes.
At the L5 level the Transverse processes appear prominent, articulating with the sacral alae/Iliac bones. Vertebral bodies and their posterior neural arches otherwise appear normal
The L3-4 and L4-5 discs demonstrate desiccative signals with annular bulges.
The L4-L5.disc height appears reduced on the sagittal sequences. A shallow broad based protrusion of the L-4-5 is noted into the canal with a shallow downward extension along the postero-superior aspects of the L5 vertttebral body
The Central Spinal Canal maintains normal configuration s and dimensions. AP diameters of the Central Spinal canal in cms are as follows.
VERTEBRAL LEVELS          AP DIAMETERS
L1          1.75
L2          1.68
L3          1.68
L4          1.72
L5          1.76
Against the site of L3-4 disc annular bulge, the anterior Thecal tangent appears minimally impressed upon. Against of L4-5 disc annular bulge with superadded shallow broad based hernia ion /Caudal extrusion, The anterior Thecal Tangent appears impressed upon along the right sided L5 root sleeve.          The Parspinal soft tissues appear normal
Sagittal T2 weighted screening of the whole spine otherwise reveals C4-5disc protrusion impressing the Thecal sac/cord silhouette with shallower T2-3disc protrusion, minimally impressing the Thecal sac
IMPRESSIONS          SACRALISATION OF THE FIFTH LUMBER VERTEBRA
L3-4 DISC ANNULAR BULGE CAUSING MINIMALTHECALCOMPROMISES
L4-5 DISC ANNULAR BULGE WITH SUPERADDED SHALLOW
BROAD BASED HERNIATION /CAUDAL EXTRUSION, CAUSING THECAL
AND RIGHT SIDED L5 NEURAL COMPROMISES

The MRI appears to be within normal limits. The hip problem appears to be arthritic-which may be improved with weight loss, postural changes & exercise.
Hope this helps & Good Luck!
