Orthopedics/exertional popliteal artery entrapment

I was diagnosed with bilateral funtional popliteal artery entrapment (due to extra connective tissue pushing onto the artery) and exertional compartment syndrome and had surgery on both legs a month apart. In the surgery, they scraped and removed the extra tissue. This relieved my symptoms for like a month....then all of it came back, and more intensity, and plus recovery problems...In one of my legs, the surgeon said my artery was inflamed. I'm at the point where I can barely walk, barely exercise. And even scared to because I could be at risk for blood clot and nerve damage. In the 3 years that this developed before surgery, my lower leg and ankles and feet never swelled...but now they do if I stand or walk too long. I found a case online of a 20 year old female athlete VERY SIMILAR TO MY CASE! She had to have a second surgery done to remove the surgery scar tissue and cut one of the medial heads of the gastroc. Please tell me your opinion....I don't know what to do. I am 20, not sedentery, non smoker, not overweight, no diabetes.

It sounds like you may have grown scar tissue in the area of the previous surgery. Get a second opinion from a vascular surgeon & locate the doctor who did the surgery for the gal.Contact them & ask for a referral in your area. Sometimes specialized surgeons may belong to the same academic organization.
Hope this helps & Good Luck!
