Anyway, sentence number nine on the page (the Persian translations, not the English) includes a word presumably meaning "evening" as it’s preceded by “emruz”. How do you say “this evening” (apart from “emshab”)? Emru:z-e-? (I hope the eza:fe is right, as in emru:z-e-sobh for “this morning”.)
The problem is that I can't read the word which comes after "emru:z" (I use : to show a long vowel, so your name would be A:sha:.)
By the way, does the Persian word for دويست ) 200) come from ده dah and بيست bi:st? If so it would mean “ten times twenty” i.e. two hundred. Perhaps the Ancient Persians used to count in twenties, is that possible?

I'm glad to know that you are very serious in learning Persian Language and you are very careful too.
دویستis an indipendent word. it is not related to بیست & ده.
In sentence No 9 that you gave me, has been written : امروز عصر. It means that a time near sunset of today. we call the time near the sunset (about 2 hours before the sun set till sunset), عصر. This is not exactly "evening" because you call evening the time after the sunset.
But "toninght" is امشب. we call "shab" (شب( for the time after sunset till sunrise and "emshab" is tonight. (the night is we are in it).
"emruz sobh" is a phrase for this morning. It is read " emruz sobh" not " emruz -e- sobh". In other words there is not any vowels between "emruz" and "sobh". There is a pause after "emruz".
