Question
hi. whats a persian way to say I love you?

Answer
Hi. دوست داشتن چیزی in persian mostly means to love something. Also عاشق چیزی بودن means to love something much more strongly. There are different ways to say I love you in Persian depending on the situation.

دوسِت دارم. (Düset Däram) [Plural: دوستون دارم. (Düsetün Däram)] is a phrase used commonly in conversations and songs. This is somehow informal and may be considered impolite to strangers. But it is the best choise to expess the feeling of "I love you." generally, especially to whom you know or to the one who knows you. The form is usually not used in written themes or letters; However, it is the most prevalent way to say "I love you."

دوستَت دارم. (Düstat Däram) [Plural: دوستتان دارم. (Düstetän Däram)] is another way which is more literal than the previous one. This form is used mostly in letters.

تو را دوست دارم. Or تو را دوست می‌دارم. (Plural: شما را دوست دارم / شما را دوست می‌دارم) is a way to state "I love you". But it's rarely used. Conversational form of this is تو رو دوس دارم. (To Ro Düs Däram).

There are other ways to declare "I love you" which indirectly introduces the sence. عاشقتم (Äsheghetam), for example, means "I am your lover." or "I adore you." or "I love you very much."

There are many different ways to paraphrase a sentence in Persian as well. Many of them have their own usage and many seem no longer to suit to be used. For example دوستدار تو هستم or دوستدار تو ام. are another ways to say "I love you." but they are not used vastly today. The form may belong to classical poems and literal texts.

Hope this helps,
With best regards, Mojtaba Parsa.
