PC Strategy Games - oval office

Expert: Clyde Johnny Jr - 3/10/2009

Question
hello. i recently bought the video game oval office, commander in chief where you pretend to be the president. i installed the video game but when it is done installing a black screen pops up and a small window comes up that says, "contact publisher's website for tech support details. set display mode D3D engine error"...i dont know what any of that means.  the only email i could find on the box of the video game, i emailed, and they didn't get back to me. , was just looking for some help, thanks, laura :)

Answer
If your have Windows Vista, you will need to download the latest DirectX version from Microsoft. Google DirectX and the first or second site will be Microsoft's Download Center. The latest version is the one you want to get. Even if you have Windows XP I would recommend this. Most games that issue that error indicate an old,non-existant or corrupted DirectX version. Thanks. I hope this helps.
