Experience Played since Starcraft Original. Seasoned player. Seen all sorts of tactics played and counters. I've played with people at the top level and also entered different competitions, winning prizes as well. My speciality is more in the 1vs1 area, though I've participated in 2v2 and also 3v3 competitions before. I have also officiated the 1st World Cyber Games Competition (Singapore) in 2001.
Question i face my brother jon who annhialates me even with like 20 of my photon cannons i build them right away along with a couple zealots then after i am upgrading and building a whole bunch of buildings so i can get my stargate and stuff then he comes in with like 5 carriers and destroys my base and my photon cannons. what should i do? thanks.
Answer Try not to play so defensively. Use units to defend. They are movable. You can attack with them, defend or guard specific locations. Photon cannons are immobile and only wait to be annihilated when the enemy has enough troops.
Expand another base for even faster mineral/gas income. If you're talking about protoss vs protoss.
Dragoons work very well. Build around 6 gateways and pump out insane number of dragoons and rush your brother with them. If he has tons of Photon cannons, kill them if a revear or something. Don't allow him to get too many carriers. But rush him early. When you have 12-24 dragoons, he shouldn't have much carriers yet, if he built tons of defenses.
Cut your budget on the defenses and go for units. That'll help for a start. Other strategies will depend further on the gameplay.
