Subject: What are the best parts?
Question i want to build the best pc.
which one of these is better:
1. "intel core 2 extreme x6800" or "intel core 2 extreme qx9650 quad core?
2. "geforce 8800 ultra 768mb" or "geforce 8800 gtx sli"?
3. the best possible motherboard which is compatable with the cpu and video card in 1 and 2.
4. is it worth to put 2 video cards on the same motherboard? how much performance can it boost?
Answer I just upgraded my AUSU P4 2.8GHz system with a ASUS P5K Delux MB.
I went low end on the processor but the board will accept a Core2 Quad. proabaly the qx9650 when the prices drop.
I also went with the GeForce 8500 GT with 512 meg of ram.
So you would do well with all your choices, the thing is cost, the x6800 is cheaper than the 9560 by how much? Same with the video card.
Depends on how much you want to spend. All these produces are at the high end of the technology and will be for over a year.
So the question is do you spend the extra now or wait and upgrade later?
Dual video cards may not give you a performance boost it does how ever allow you to connect more monitors and have a higher resolution on those monitors.
