Question
I have recently been experiencing problems with the above mentioned laptop, in that when you go to turn it on it will hang at post and you cannot enter bios etc. I have tried systematically removing the HDD, DVD Drive and Ram etc, but no luck. It will occasionally boot through to windows but not consistently. I have also reseated the cpu. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Robert

Answer
Only a few things left that would cause this: the fan on the processor, the processor, or the motherboard.

When you power it up does the fan come on? If it has failed it will prevent the system from starting and damaging the CPU. To see if it is working you may have to leave it on the startup screen for a few minutes. Or open the case and power it up to see if the fan is spinning.

If the fan is working then it is the motherboard.

Because you get the post screen I would rule out the processor.
