Question Hi Michael,
I have an acer aspire laptop. And I've spilled coffee onto the keyboard, trying to clean it I took of my keys thinking they would reattach like a computer keyboard but then realised they don't. The coffee that has went into the laptop keyboard is making my "delete" button randomly activate. I could be typing something and it randomly starts deleting, or I could be on a webpage and it randomly goes back! I have a usb keyboard which I am using just now, but I don't know how to make that my default keyboard so it doesn't pick up the keyboard on the laptop? And also, why does my computer shut down randomly, after about 1 hour it shuts down for no reason and takes about 20 minutes before it will boot up again. Its been happening before I spilled the coffee so I know its nothing to do with that. My friend said its probably because it is overheating, but I bought a cooler and I still had that problem?
Thanks in advance.
Answer How about just replacing the keyboard on the laptop? Its not too difficult...
The spilled coffee could possibly have started to corrode your motherboard. If a new keyboard doesn't fix the problem, you might need to take it to a professional to see if the motherboard or any other components have been affected by the spill.
