Question
I have a desktop computer using windows xp. When I switch on the computer it beep once and then it showndown itself.
I have changed the ATX power supply unit and still give the same problem, it beep once and then shutdown.
Please advise what I should check further to isolate the faults.
Thanks,
alvin

Answer
Dear Alvin

I would remove memory modules and then check and also would remove all the external devices and internal devices like HDD and optical drive. So that I could just have motherboard and Monitor to test.

Basically, idea is to isolate the issue by removing one device at a time.

Hope it helps.
