PC hardware--CPU & Motherboard & RAM/i3 4th Gen VS APU Quad Core A8

Hi Flinix,

I am thinking of purchasing a new laptop and I have two options to choose from. Both laptops has same configuration except the processor:
One laptop of Dell has 4th Gen Intel® Core™ i3-4005U.
One laptop of HP has APU Quad Core A8-7410.
Please suggest which one should I go for.

The Intel will likely achieve slightly better battery time use per charge since Intel CPUs are pretty efficient and the onboard graphics with the Intel may be faster than the APU from AMD. The AMD may be better for multi core processes since there are physically 2 more cores, but in gaming applications, the AMD quad processor will not be using multiple cores and therefore is wasted performance that would make the Intel's dual core i3 to not fall behind.

Many, many years of experience working with the hardware components of many types of computers including desktops, laptops, kiosk computers, and even running Windows 3.1, 95, and 98 on the PSP (Sony PlayStation Portable). I've replaced capacitors on desktop motherboards making them working like new again with a high success rate. This is my hobby/job every day.
