PC hardware--CPU & Motherboard & RAM - Battery for laptop

Question
My Dell Inspiron 5100 needs a battery. I was shocked by Dell's price for a replacement! I have located batteries on line for less than half the price. Do you know if these batteries are as good as the ones that Dell sells? They claim to be new.

Answer
I haven't bought a replacement battery for any of my laptops, so I can not atest to the quality of them. I will say that if you buy a product from a reputable seller and read the 'fine' print about their return polocy and you are dissatisfide you could return the battery if it doesn't live up to expectations.

HTH

If you suspect that the battery has failed and will not charge it is better to remove it from the computer, a failed battery is a fire hazard, it could short out and damage your computer if not cause a fire.
