Question
I have xp at home. when i start my computer the monitor did not come up. so i changed the monitor to another old one. I could see emachines logo come up and then the xp logo come up. There was a scroll bar which showed that xp was being loaded. After that the screen went blank. the cd rom opens. f8 is not working. i cannot make the computer go into safe mode. I am not sure what is happening. Need your help.
Thanks
Sandeep

Answer
Hi Sandeep,

It looks like your Windows installation got corrupted. The best way to go is using the recovery console, but it is not a simple task. I would look for someone who knows how to use it.
Another option is get a new hard disk drive, install it as master, with your old drive as slave. Make a new Windows installation, and get your files from the older drive.

Ricardo
