Hello Yee,
Things to check:
In control panel-check power option-when you press off button-power off, should be checked.
Do you have all the latest drivers for your system via Windows update site, and your video card updated with the latest driver?
How much empty space is on your hard drive?
Do you defragment the hard drive in least once a week?
Do you have the latest BIOS update for your motherboard via motherboard site?
Could be a memory issue,do you have another memory module?
512MB is excellent for increased system performance.
Let me know,
Ross
