Question
i recently upgraded my processor from a Pentium 4 1.8 Ghz to a 3.0 Ghz. i installed it and when i turn my computer on the moniter does not respond even though the rest of the system is operationable. i am wondering what i did wrong, or if my motherboard is not able to support it. i did not look for my motherboard documentation because i did not have any. any help would be nice.

Answer
Dear Matthew,

Before upgrading it is always better to make sure your existing hardware supports that upgrade in your case motherboard. But what you can do it contact your computer manufacturer and find out if it supports Pentium-4 3.0Ghz. If your system is non-branded then you will need to find out your motherboard make and model and search the manufacturer site for processor compatiblity.

Hope this info is helpful for you.
