Question Hi, i m 28 yrs old, married (for 1 year), working female. i've been getting irregular periods since last 8-9 months. My TSH is 6.15; T4, T3, free T4, glucose, plsma insulin all are normal, no antibodies. I've started 1 thyronorm 25 mg tablet daily since last 15 days. I am also trying to reduce weight (weight 66.3 kgs, height 5'4"). Is this increased TSH the reason behind irregularity in periods? After TSH comes in normal range, will i be able to concieve? How normal or serious is this situation?
Answer Hi Anu :-)
I really do not know alot about thyroid function, other than the fact that if your thyroid levels are off that it can cause problems with your menstrual cycle and your ability to become pregnant. In theory, when your Dr gets your thyroid levels regulated- you should be able to become pregnant and have normal periods provided you don't have any other underlying health problems your Dr hasnt discovered yet. Sorry I can't be of more help.
