PHP5/Directory cannot e read

QuestionHi, I bought a fully automated ebook store package from the ebay website. I paid the seller $48.00 incl. installation. He could not resolve a problem and blame it on the hosting company and the .info domain. I get the following at the top of the website when opened:
The downloadable products directory cannot be read: /home/ebookfac/public_html/download/. Please check that the entries in configure.php are correct.
Please have a look at www.ebookfactory.info - is there a way that you can correct this. Thank you in advance!
AnswerHi Phil,
I did a google search on the phrase
"The downloadable products directory cannot be read:"
and got four hits. The first three show the identical symptom to you, but the last one,
http://www.ebook-corner-shop.co.uk/index.php?cPath=3
does not. It may be then that this site also had the problem, and then fixed it.
As I see it, you now have three alternatives available to you:
1) contact the webmaster of that last site and see if they did fix this problem and can tell you how they did it
2) find a support bbs on the web for your product and search for or post this problem; maybe someone there can help
3) hire a pro - for myself this looks like a one hour job
If you want to contact me privately my website's contact page is at

In any case please let me know how things turn out. Glad your site is otherwise looking good.
