Experience I am a Maiti Specialist (Fiji) and visit the South Pacific Islands at least once a year so my clients and those asking questions get the best first hand information.
Question Coming from Vancouver Canada, we know that our choices are limited with regards to our budget. The S. Pacific is expensive and the choice between Fiji, Cooks, and Tahiti/Bora Bora will eat up most through the travel/accommodations. Even with deals, we're expecting around $2500/pp. We're not sure where to go in Sept/Oct and we heard about the wild chickens on Rarotonga that crow at the early hours. Is this true and what's the least expensive island or bargain during Sept/Oct if we're counting pennies?
Answer Bob:
Generally, the Cooks will be less expensive than Fiji or Tahiti, depending on what airline is doing the best deals for the time.
If you will email me with the dates you are looking at and what level of accomodations you are looking for, I can give you an exact cost of a package that will include air and resort stay. Also need to know if you would be willing to depart from Seattle instead of Vancouver if the cost is better.
