About Lady Sappho Wolf
Expertise
For the last twenty years my specialty has been counseling for people in the Pagan and Wiccan communities, mostly about walking an alternative path in a hostile world. But I am also open to more general questions, especially from people who may be completely new to this and are curious. Currently I am the director of the Spiral Way, an educational outreach effort that you can currently check out at http://www.myspace.com/sapphowolfspiral . We're in the process of building a more substantial website.

Experience
My parents were among the first in the United States to embrace the Wiccan religion. I grew up in a Wiccan household with the knowledge that one day I would make my own path. Initiated in 1988, I went on to lead groups in Wicca and also in traditional Pagan paths, such as the Hellenic. Today I am a High Priestess who has attained the Third Degree in Wicca of the Ways. All of what I say here is what makes me who I am

Question
Hello. I have been pagan (I think) since I was born. I believe in the goddess, and the god, and that they are everything, and that everything is them. The only thing is, I have never had a ritual, or a celebration (e.g., Samhain, Yule, etc.). I know ABOUT them. I've read about them a lot. But I've never experienced one (maybe I have when I was a toddler, I don't remember. We used to live in an almost all Wiccan community). The problem might be that my mom and I no longer know any wiccans near where we live. Our family is all Christian, ecxept for us. So, am I still pagan/wiccan, even though I've never done a ritual?

Answer
I can help you here.

Ritual is a lot like training wheels.  They basically help to get you started down the Pagan path.  You're already talking about your relationship with the God and the Goddess.  In my experience, this indicates that you are already past the point where regular ritual is necessary for you--your whole life has become a ritual!

So indeed, you are already of the Craft.  Keep on going as you have been and have faith that the Lord and Lady will guide you.

Ananke!
