AboutLabyrinth Expertise I can answer all questions regarding natural spirituality and being a pagan. Being Wicca, Golden Dawn, Shamanist, whatever...is like saying you're Lutheran or Baptist. They are all forms of paganism and all based on natural spirituality. I am Romani (gypsy) and part Lakota (American Indian) and I was raised in natural spiritualism. I am a life path counselor for my group, a ritualist, and a spell weaver. Most of my work consists of guiding people on how to find spiritual peace in a very chaotic material world. Ask me anything.
Experience Romani and Lakota by blood and raised in the old traditions.

Answer Birds as symbolism do not mean death. Birds are associated with spirits and are usually considered messengers.
As your online therapist I'd interpret this dream to mean that there is something you need to do or want to do and are avoiding. What ever it is, it is dark in your heart, in your spirit...perhaps you are afraid of doing it.
Fear comes in many forms and for many reasons. It does not have to be a fear like..."oh no! the tiger will eat me!" Most fear is much more personal. Most fears are of things we think we cannot do ourselves. Things that make us feel inadequate. Maybe subconsciously you think you are not strong enough or you don't deserve something.
But there it is...your opportunity or idea or destiny or assignment...wanting out, but not wanting out...
Black as a color does not mean death...it means endings of which death is only one kind. Other samples of endings are graduations and divorces, moving, or leaving a job. All endings are immediately followed by new beginnings...always.
Red is the color of passion and creativity, heat and lust and all things thrilling and firey.
There is your fear...with a promise of passion...a wisp of red to remind you that there may be an adventure in that scary new beginning.
