I can answer all questions regarding natural spirituality and being a pagan. Being Wicca, Golden Dawn, Shamanist, whatever...is like saying you're Lutheran or Baptist. They are all forms of paganism and all based on natural spirituality. I am Romani (gypsy) and part Lakota (American Indian) and I was raised in natural spiritualism. I am a life path counselor for my group, a ritualist, and a spell weaver. Most of my work consists of guiding people on how to find spiritual peace in a very chaotic material world. Ask me anything.

Experience
Romani and Lakota by blood and raised in the old traditions. High Priestess - Rainbow Moon Clan. Ordained Christian Minister

Pagan/Wiccan Religion - A Little Clarity

Question
I'll start off with a little bit of history of my past:
My mother was Pagan, and I was born into it. She started teaching me when I was about 6 or 7. Just like Sunday school for Christians. She told me that one day I would be able to understand more a lot easier, and that I would do great things one day. She passed away when I was 9 years old. She wore a fairy pendant everyday. A few years later, my father told me that she knew that she was going to be leaving us or that she knew something really bad was going to happen to her. The night she passed away, my brother and I were at our grandparent's house while my father was at the hospital. After he told us the devastating news, he handed me her pendant. He told me that a few weeks before it happened, she asked him to give it to me if anything were to happen to her. I have worn it everyday of my life since.
I am extremely empathic, I am able to feel the emotions & sometimes even the thoughts of random people that I am around, even while going to the grocery store. I have had this ability for as long as I can remember, since my mom's death. Though it started to emerge very subtlety in the beginning, day by day it grows and becomes stronger. My first experience was the night she died, after I put the necklace on. I was wide awake and all of a sudden I felt as if I was in a dream. She was before me. Telling me that it was her time and now was my turn, that all I need to do is follow my heart and that she would be with me every step of the way. I woke up and never remembered falling asleep. My grandmother, great grandmother & great great grandmother all have a history of some sort of psychic ability.

I have always been drawn to Paganism, in one form or another, even before I truly knew much about the religion. I have an extreme sense of compassion and great love for nature and all of it's creatures. I have always felt as if it is my job to help nourish and protect all that is good & natural. I am a naturally curious person, so during my few years of exploration and self discovery, I explored multiple faiths. Not one ever felt "right" for me, I kept going back to Paganism and when I thought about it, it made me feel whole, I guess is how you can say it. I have an extremely deep sensation in my heart that I am destined to something.. destined to carry on what my mom wasn't able to.
I have heard stories of that sort of thing occurring, and I truly deeply feel as if that's true, although I have never been told by anyone else except my intuition (which is very powerful and surprisingly accurate). My mother also practiced tarot, and when I picked up my first deck about 7 months ago, it just felt right for me.

I was hoping that you might be able to give me a little insight and share your opinion on my situation with me.
Even though I wasn't raised completely with the teachings of Paganism, do you think that just being born Pagan was enough? Was I born with some sort of spiritual birth right? Were my instincts that I was born and destined to be a protector of nature true?

The past 5 years, I have been studying and practicing the religion's history, beliefs, and traditions as they truly are, living as a Pagan. I know that fairy pendants are worn to help strengthen and develop spirituality and magical abilities. Is it possible that she wanted me to have it after she passed on in order to carry on what she started and to help me through it all?

Thank You.

Answer
Being born to the craft gives you a little head start.  You didn't start out believing either that we didn't exist or that we were evil.  This allowed your natural talent to bloom and grow.  What you have shown me here is exactly what shoule be happening.  You have a natural attraction to nature and kindness and a sense of purpose...welcome to the club!
Study...do what feel right...
Do not be overly concerned with finding others...most covens are warped, honestly.  Many many witches are solitary right now...I mean at this point in history.  If you are supposed to belong to a group...it will find you.
If you want to actively practice, start with celebrating life.  Do general full month rituals, offerings, honor the sabbats and whatever else feels good.  If you have a job to do that is somehow your destiny...the Goddess will deliver it to you.  You do not have to go and look for it.

Read:
"Wicca for the solitary practitioner" by Scott Cunningham
"Grandmother of Time" by Szuszanna Budapest
"Witchcrafting" by Phyllis Currott

These are my standard texts I assign to all my students.

Keep your pendant, put a picture of yourmother on your altar.

I will be glad to answer any questions you have along the way.

Welcome Home!!
