Pagan/Wiccan Religion - Question

Expert: Jason - 10/20/2009

Question
I was told that it was very bad when you spill a red candle that is lit, it was said that it can represent love and blood and when you spill the red wax that it represents blood getting spilt. it this true?

Answer
Dear Kayla,

Hello and thank you for contacting me. To tell you the truth there are a lot of misconceptions in magic. Magic is mostly about one's intention and focus. If you do not intend to cause harm through ritual then it will not do that. It is true that red can represent love and many other things but that is in the eye of the beholder so to speak. So there is no need to worry; it is not true that merely spilling wax will hurt you. Blessings on your path.

---Jason
