Pagan/Wiccan Religion - spirit animal

Expert: Babylon Jasmine - 10/10/2009

Question
my spirit animal is the crow or raven what does this mean

Answer
Crows and ravens, despite looking similar, are very different birds.  The commonalities are that both are black, both are carrion eaters, and both are capable of learning to talk, like a parrot  while their native sounds are not very pleasant to the human ear.

So the things you could draw from that, if you like, is that you are someone who is practical, and also someone more likely to tell the ugly truth than a pretty lie.  Crows and ravens are also both quite clever however, and known for being tricksters, so perhaps you have the ability to make something look like the ugly truth, when it is what you want to convey and not, actually, entirely truthful.

Ravens are solitary birds, and people for whom that is their totem tend to be very self sufficient, sometimes leaders, but never for very long, they prefer not to have followers and work better alone than in groups.  Crows meanwhile are very social, and someone with a crow totem is at their best in a group, they get lonely easily.  They may bicker and try to gain a place of importance even if they do not deserve one, but once the bickering is settled they tend to perform whatever role they have taken on as a part of the whole very well.
