Question I have had amulets created for me, one to protect me from legal troubles at work, and an another amulet(made of tiger eye) to bring forth good luck. These were created a year ago at a Wicca shop.
I'm told they need renewing to keep their strength up

Hello and thank you for contacting me. To answer your question there are many different ways to energize (often called charging) something for a purpose. The easiest way is to hold it in your hand, clear your mind and visualize the desired outcome. After a little bit you will feel a pulse, sort of like electricity going into the object. You should not to force the energy, it works best if you are in a soft focused state of mind if that makes sense. It's almost like a daydream with a purpose. After you intuitively feel like it is done I like to state my intent out loud. Something like, "I charge this (object) to do (intention). So it must be" When it comes to timing any time is good if it is an emergency, but if it can wait a little bit many witches go by the phases of the moon. If you want to bring something to you then traditionally you would do a spell during the waxing moon. If you wish to push something away from you, you do a spell during the waning moon. It's kind of like an ocean wave. Water builds up, crests (full moon) then starts to go back down. Since you want to bring protective energy and good luck to you, I would do this during the waxing or full moon. You may even want to do the charging under the moonlight.
