Awards and Honors I run a Temple, in addition to my "mundane" life working in a hospital and running my own business.I have had 4 years of formal training in one Tradition, and was Initiated as a Green Witch. I've taught classes in MD, DE and PA. I've been contacted on several occasions to act as a Media liason for ABC television and the Sci-Fi Channel in matters of the Wiccan religion and have been featured locally on AM and FM stations, including multiple appearances on 'The Paranormal Cafe.'
I run Meeting groups locally for Witches and other Magickal people to meet and greet, and am currently working with friends in MD and DE to build stores to better serve our Community.
Question My mother was very gifted and open to spirits, she read Tarot and did Astrological charts (the old fashioned way- math by hand with an Ephemeris)and tried to teach me but I never had time and always thought she would help me if I needed it.
She passed away at 62 4 years ago -very unexpectedly. Since then 3 very close relatives have passed away.
My husband, children and I have all been ill for about a year or so and even our dog died before his time. We have all been to various doctors for blood work, etc. With no real answers.
We have been doing poorly at work and school due to sadness and ill health. It is taking it's toll on our relationships as a loving family.
I have no one to turn to for advice.
How can I do a cleansing and protection spell for my family and myself?
Answer I would open the windows in your home, (if it is cold outside, they only need to be open an inch or two). Fill the bathtub with warm water and put two cups of table salt in the water. (if you live near the ocean, you can simply bathe them in the ocean water) Let them air dry, do not wipe the salt water off.
If they are old enough to bathe by themselves, you can start the rest while they are in the bath.
Fill a spray bottle with water. Add another cup of salt to the water. (You can also burn sage if you have any) feel free to light a white candle in children's bedroom(s). start at one end of the house, top floor if you have one. go thru the house, spray down the walls in each room. As you spray the windows in each room close them. Feel free to draw an equal armed cross (+) over each window to seal it. This is a strong sign of protection, and if your husband asks, it looks like a cross.
Go through out the entire house, to make sure you chase the spirit out.
Spray the outside of the house if you can.
The salt will purify the house and all who live inside.
You can pray while you do this. To the Lord and Lady, you can say Psalms if you feel comfortable doing that, you don't have to say anything out loud if you don't wish.
If you have a local supply store, see if you can find black salt. It will help prevent any spirits from coming back into your home. If you can't find black salt, just add three match heads to your water when spraying the outside of the home. The sulfur will keep the spirits out.
