I can answer all questions regarding natural spirituality and being a pagan. Being Wicca, Golden Dawn, Shamanist, whatever...is like saying you're Lutheran or Baptist. They are all forms of paganism and all based on natural spirituality. I am Romani (gypsy) and part Lakota (American Indian) and I was raised in natural spiritualism. I am a life path counselor for my group, a ritualist, and a spell weaver. Most of my work consists of guiding people on how to find spiritual peace in a very chaotic material world. Ask me anything.

Experience
Romani and Lakota by blood and raised in the old traditions. High Priestess - Rainbow Moon Clan. Ordained Christian Minister

Pagan/Wiccan Religion - Becoming Wicca.

Expert: Labyrinth - 6/8/2009

Question
I'm not sure whether or not to become Wicca or if i do chose to believe in Paganism or what because my Mum's extremely strict and 'conservative'. In other words she would flip out at the fact that I'm starting to take my first steps into adulthood.
So, if I do decide to become Wiccan how can I? And how can I do it so that my Mum won't break down?
And I do love my Mum just not the fact that she's dependant on my siblings and I.
                           Thanks

Answer
Just curious as to what part of the answer you found to be without knowledge??
Wiccans do not believe that you have to go around testifying like Christians do.  Keeping your affiliation secret is common and often saves people their jobs and family relationships.
Is there something I can clarify for you?

I recommend that you read and study all you can before making a concise decision.
Then...don't tell your mother.
It will just upset her.  Go to church with her if she want, it is okay.  Learning is good no matter where we do it.
Your phrase "starting to take my first steps into adulthood" mean you are very young and the one thing you have is time.
As you learn about wicca, if you decide to practice, keep it from your family.  If in the future you see an opportunity to be open with them then you can say...'look, I've been doing this so many years already and you can see I am okay.'
Wiccans do not dress in black or go around wearing pentagrams all the time or act like goofy flower children...we are just regular people who have chosen wic as our spiritual faith.

Good luck, Labyrinth
