I'm hoping that you can help me with some candle magick. (A little background: I'm an eclectic and solitary wiccan.) For the past 6 weeks, I've been doing candle spells in an effort to have my boyfriend return to me. (Nothing manipulative. I know that he loves me...I'm working to get him to think about me, remember what we shared and why he loves me.) All of the work has been encouraging as I've had strong and high flames, candle jar glasses remain clear, the wax usually covers my offerings and flows in the direction of which he lives. Furthermore, when I talk to, meditate, or pray over the candles, I see the flames respond immediately to my energy.
My question is: if I'm receiving all of these affirmations from the spiritual world, why aren't these things manifesting themselves as positive results in the physical world? In my heart of hearts, I know that my work is "working." What are your thoughts about the candles, even though we have not officially made up yet?

Well in simple terms all magick is manipulative to a certain degree, including what you're doing with candles. You want your boyfriend to do certain things like remember why it is he loves you, the good times you've shared and so on. The reason why it is not manifesting itself in the real world is because while not harmful, it is still manipulative. A better way to go about this is to love yourself, first and foremost. Since you have an affinity for candle magick I would like to offer you a special bath/candle ritual, called "I Love Myself" When we love ourselves we become more attractive to those around us. It's almost instantaneous. The best love spells bolster your self esteem, make you love and respect yourself, while at the same time beckoning another. This bath is particularly helpful for those who have loved and lost or are looking for reconciliation. You will need the following:
Milk
Honey
6 Drops of Lavender essential oil
5 candles: Blue, brown, pink, white and yellow.
Quantities of milk and honey are based on your personal preference but do not exceed 6 drops of lavender oil. Gently warm the milk on the stove. As it begins to warm add the honey, stirring constantly. Do not allow the milk to boil; you only want to warm it. As soon as the honey is absorbed remove from stove. Fill your tub with warm/hot water and pour in the mixture. Light the 5 candles around the room. These candles heal different aspects and open the heart chakra. Turn off the lights and add the lavender just before entering the tub. Once in the tub, there is little to say, although you may make affirmations if you like. Your actions are your affirmation in this particular ritual.
I do believe you will gain better results when you love yourself first as when you are lovable, your man should make up with you.
Remember too, that intent is everything. So intend to really love yourself and that will rub off on him. This is about the best, non manipulative form of magick you can perform. Do this and let me now how it works out for you!
