Experience My parents were among the first in the United States to embrace the Wiccan religion. I grew up in a Wiccan household with the knowledge that one day I would make my own path. Initiated in 1988, I went on to lead groups in Wicca and also in traditional Pagan paths, such as the Hellenic. Today I am a High Priestess who has attained the Third Degree in Wicca of the Ways. Question hi my name is barbara i am a 22 year old mother of 2 children my boyfriend is wiccan and i am intereseted in the wiccan faith but i have no idea which kind of wiccan to study or how to get started
Answer First of all, I suggest you back up and take another look. You don't want to become Wiccan only because your boyfriend is Wiccan--you need to feel it within yourself, in your heart and soul. This is the only way you have any chance of finding a path that is true and meaningful.
The religion is called Wicca. "Wiccan" refers to someone who walks the path, or to anything related to the path. You don't want to study "Wiccan". You want to study Wicca.
At any rate, the only way to start is by starting. There are many more types of Wicca now than when I was initiated, and every one of them offers something special. You will probably want to check out the Witches' Voice at http://www.witchvox.org/ which is an entire site of information--far more than I can include here.
