AboutTraeonna A. R. Wagener Expertise I am a Suitheist who has been practicing magick since 1984. I am willing to answer questions about magickal entity creation, divination (specifically dice, coins, and runes), sigilization, aromagicks, magick (in general), and Suitheism (in general) as these are some of my areas of expertise. Although not my areas of expertise, I have an intermediary understanding of magickal/ritualistic body modification, sex magick, and chaos magick and would be willing to discuss what I know of those subjects. I have a background starting/reorganizing occult teaching/discussion groups, so I would be willing to discuss that topic as well. Since I only have rudimentary knowledge of such or it is not my area of expertise, I DO NOT answer questions about Wicca, Asatru, Druidism, Modern Satanism and other such religions or spiritual paths, love magick (or any magick involving personal relationships), astral projection, tarot (and forms of divination not listed as an expertise area), past lives, astrology, and anything else not listed as an expertise area. If I receive such questions, most of the time I will respond with "I cannot answer this as it is outside of my expertise."

Background I have been practicing since 1984, became an ordained minister in 1999, and was licensed in the State of Ohio to solemnize marriages in 2001. My family's spiritual tradition is called Akaeris (so I'm an Akaerin) and is Suitheistic in nature.

Question The subject very simply states my question. What exactly is Chaos Magick? Is it bad? And if so what can prevent it? Please send me as much stuff about it as you see fit and have time too. Actually any info. about would be appreciated. Thanx.
Answer Chaos Magick is considered a new approach to "doing" magick. It avoids dogmatism, stresses personal experience, can at times be very technical and almost scientific, speaks of deconditioning, and supports diversity. It is based on the idea that the world itself is without system, and therefore, the Chaos magickian themselves should be the same. It is a paradigm that speaks to adopting a system and make use of it as it is helpful to you a that moment and then discard it for something else or something better when you need to. Simply said, "Everything is true, nothing is forbidden". Most Chaos magickians stress that whatever worked for the magickian was true, and if it didn't work, it wasn't true (for that magickian). The best thing to have come out of Chaos magick is the idea of creating your own system of magick. It speaks to a magickian taking the steps towards making magick their own and creating their own system of magick, from the ground level up.
No, it is not bad unless you, the practitioner, intends it to be bad, but magick in and of itself is not bad...only the practitioner can "make" it bad.
If you are interested in chaos magick, there are a few books out there about it. The two most popular are by Phil Hine...Condensed Chaos and Prime Chaos. There are also many websites about it.
