Question
I've been a Christian for most of life, but now I find Christianity to be too restricting. I've been looking more towards spirituality than religion. I've been attemping to study Kabbalah, but I want to be open to other things.

I want to know more about Wicca, before I become a committed follower. I was mostly curious about the deities that are in Wicca. I tend to lean towards religions that are monotheistic.I wanted to know about the character of the deities and what the provide.

I also wanted to know the "commandments" of Wiccanism. Such as, are there physical places that are assigned as rewards or punishments in Wicca, such as Heaven and Hell in the Christian.

Oh, and also what role does tarot, numerology, astrology, dream interpretation, etc. play in Wicca.

Answer
Hi Braunz,

Thank you for the question. Sorry for the wait, just been rather busy lately. Firstly, let me say that many people find Christianity too restricting these days, and are looking for allternate forms of spirtiuality to answer there questions NOW and instead of looking for them in a book written years ago! However, I would like to also state that "Wicca", though it is spiritual, is a religion.

You ask about deities. Wicca is a polytheistic religion that is high in Goddess worship. The main deities of Wicca are the Mother Goddess, and Father God, or Lady and Lord, so on and so forth. They come in three forms. For the Goddess it is Maiden, Mother, and Crone, and for the God its Son, Father, Sage. There is so much more to it than that, however, I will save the rest for you to research on your own! However, I can say that many Wiccan's come to find a Patron Goddess, or God, which they will eventually worship solely, or along w/ the God/dess. For example, mine is Lilith, Goddess of Independence and Transformation.

Wicca, doesn't have commandments, such as Christianity, instead we follow the Wiccan Rede, which states "An it harm none, do what ye will" we also follow the rule of three, that which you send out, so shall you recieve x3. We adhear to karma. We also believe in Reincarnation after death, not heaven nor hell.

Tarot, Numbeology, Astrology, and dream interpretation play the role of divination in the craft. Not all practice it, but some do.

I will recommend the following books for you to look into:

- Witch: A Magickal Journey by Fiona Horne
- The Inner Temple of Witchcraft by Christopher Penczak
- Witchcrafting by Phyllis Curott
- To Ride A Silver Broomstick by Silver Ravenwolf

Hope this helps! Good luck on your journey!

Blessed Be,

Michael
