Expert: Glenn Fraller Date: 5/7/2008 Subject: Pagemaker and PDF Export
Question I use Pagemaker 7 and have always exported my files to PDF within the PM file. I recently upgraded to Adobe Acrobat 8 and now every time I try to export my pagemaker file to PDF the Pagemaker programs shuts down. Could I have a setting wrong. It is so frustrating. I need to figure this out as I have files I need to get off to a printer. Thanks in advance for any help that you can give me.

I know how frustrating this can be. The crashing of Pagemaker may not be related to Acrobat 8. It may be caused by a bad font or graphic. If did a Preflight and all is cool, what I would do to expedite the job is print the file to postscript for Distiller. There may be an incompatibility issue with Acrobat 8 and PM but I would do the work around. Or use the older version of Acrobat now and troubleshoot later.
