Pagemaker (Adobe) - Creating PS Files in Pagemaker

Expert: Glen Demers - 9/29/2008

Question
Glen,
For some time I have been able to load a suitable PS driver and together with a recommended ppd have created PS files (for later distilling to PDF), having had Microsoft XP on my machine.  I have now 'upgraded' to Microsoft Vista, but now am unable to find a PS printer which can create a PS file.  Is this still possible?  It is not possible to write direct to PDF from Pagemaker as the files will going to a commercial printer (in the U.K.) who requires specific distiller settings.

Your help will be most appreciated.
Dave

Answer
Hi Dave,

I'm sorry but I have not had the opportunity to work with Vista, but I do know that Micro$oft has created their own version of the pdf and since Adobe has dropped all support of PageMaker in favor of InDesign there is very little chance of a patch to make this work on PageMaker.
Is there no PDF or Acrobat printer available?
I'm sorry, but from everything I've heard it is not a good idea to try to run PageMaker on Vista
