Question
QUESTION: Hi Glen

I have just upgraded my father in law's pc to vista and now he says he is having trouble publishing to a ps printer.  I've read some forums and they all say that pagemaker and vista arent a good idea together, can you help please?

ANSWER: Hi Mike,

I have not yet had the opportunity to work with Vista. You might try exporting pdf's out of Pagemaker and printing those.

Hope this helps,

QUESTION: Glen thanks
I think that when you export from Pagemaker directly to PDF, you get a lite version of the document with images scaled down and some fonts substituted etc, not sure if this is so, but my FIL tells me he has to publish to a ps and then distill the output of that to a PDF for his printer company.  Its the publishing to ps which he cant do and suggests its a Vista thing.  Would Adobe In-Design help me as I have a copy available to me?

Many thanks

Mike

Answer
Hi Mike,

Yes, InDesign is the way to go. Adobe has given up on PageMaker in favor of supporting InDesign and it works much better with today's operating systems - XP, Vista Mac OSX etc
