Pagemaker (Adobe) - fonts

Expert: Glen Demers - 9/19/2008

Question
QUESTION: Is there anywhere that I can go to view fonts so I can select the one that most suits the projects I have working.  It is so frustrating not to be able compare multiple fonts side by side.  I would even be willing to print out a copy of the fonts so I can see what they look like.

ANSWER: Hi Sharon,

Suitcase and other font management software allows you to see the fonts. My advice would be to go to VersionTracker and search for font utilities for your particular system. There are many free and inexpensive programs for viewing, organizing and printing out font samples such as AMP Font Viewer. Linotype also has an excellent font management program available for free download but it is for Macs only.

Hope this helps,

QUESTION: Thank you, I have downloaded the AMP Font Viewer.  Now my biggest problem is that I can't access my files from Pagemaker 6.5 from my upgrade 7.0.  I REALLY need those files.  How can I access them?

Answer
Hi Sharon,

The PageMaker 7 files have to be saved back as PageMaker 6 files in order for PageMaker 6.5 to open them.

Hope this helps,
Glen Demers
