Subject: Hard to breath

Question
Hii :) recently i been finding it really hard to breath, i cant take short breaths i have to take deep breaths to be able to breath but when i do it gives me a really sharp pain in my left shoulder and affects my neck too, and it gets so bad it stops me taking a deep breath half way through the pain is like in my shoulder but nearer to the neck i also get pain in my ribs,i sometimes get heartburn as well... do you know what up with me? these pains started 4 days ago but I've had them befor as well.

Answer
Hi Cody and thanks for writing,

I really can't diagnose you over the Internet (and no one should try). You need to go see a doctor and have him listen to your lungs and do a chest x-ray as well to rule out any serious conditions and treat whatever is causing your difficulty breathing.

Breathing is too important to mess around with so please don't leave it too long as not treating it may lead to irreversible damage.

Wishing you all the best,
Margot
