Question Hello, my name is Angelina and I am 47. I was in a head on car wreck 17 yrs. ago. I now have carprial tunnel in both hands, back pain and mainly I have a bad ankle that was severely broken and still has hardware in it. The pain has worsen with the arthritis and swelling. I am having difficulty getting around on it. Could you please recommend some type of therapy that might help me in managing the pain. I would greatly appreciate your assistance. Thank you...
Answer Hi Angelina and thanks for writing,
I'm sorry to read about your ongoing struggle with chronic pain, it certainly can be discouraging after years.
The good news is that there are a lot of things you can try and see which ones work best for you -some might be great for your ankle and another might be best for your back, etc...
I would suggest looking into the following therapies in your are and give the a try:
Acupuncture &/or Acupressure
Ultrasound & TENS (muscle stimulators)
Magnets (from Nikken )
Swimming & Hydrotherapy
Pilates &/or Yoga (I recommend Classic Pilates)
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Bio Feedback
Homeopathy
Massage Therapy
Hypnosis
I hope this helped,
all my best,
Margot
