Question
it's been more than a month i'm suffering through back neck pain. it's exactly between of soldiers where neck starts. i feel really uneasy and uncomfortable on back neck like pain or something like that. i went to check up my problem to an orthopedic in hospital. he told me muscular stiffness and tiredness something like that and it will be ok if i take rest and he told me to put neck guard too. i put neck guard almost all time but putting neck guard make me feel more uncomfortable. sometimes i feel like there's no pain back but when i sit and work on computer for long time i start to have back neck pain that's what i noticed. i really want to know what i'm suffering from? what is my problem and how can i deal with this? how can i live free from back neck prob? pleas help!!!!!

Answer
Dear Shrawan,

You may be suffering from tight muscles at the back of the neck between your shoulders.  Sitting at the computer and slouching will make it worse.

These options may help with your pain.  Massage, heat, stretch.  If none of those can help you, I would recommend for you to sought help from a chiropractor or acupuncture who can manage your condition.
