Question
I have knee pain on the outside of my left knee. The pain is severe for a few hours then goes away as quickly as it came.It can go from no pain at all to severe in minutes and then leave again. It started when I was jogging about two weeks ago.I stopped for 2 days and it felt fine.I started walking instead, but it started hurting again.

Answer
Kevin,

Sounds like you may have "IT band syndrome"-- caused by a tight tensor fascia lata muscle.

Please see my article on unequal leg length and IT band syndrome at somatics.com/page4b.htm.

This condition can usually be corrected by clnical somatic education, a brain-muscle training technique.
