Question
Dear sir,
I am suffering from Trapezius spasm since last 1.5 yrs. I have tried every available treatment. I showed to various Orthos,Physiotherapist,Physician and Neurologist
I even went for Laser and Tapping tech in Physiotherapy. I have tried various relaxants.

One month back I underwent MRI Reports:1)Loss of Cervical Lordosis
2)Posterior bulge of C4-C5 disc on left side compressing theca and left exiting nerve root.
3)Posterior diffuse bulge of of C3-C4 and C5-C6 indenting theca and both existing nerve root.

Even I underwent Electromyogram (EMG) and Nerve Conduction Studies which shows everything normal.

Neurologist says only streching even not medicine can cure this.
will swimming or aqua exercise help me
My Physcian and Physiotherapist say Swimming is best exercise for disc or spine. Is it true?
Can I wear a collar while working on Computer?
Pankaj

Answer
Hi Pankaj,

In your case, the treatment would be to have the neck stretched or pull allowing the space to open up freeing the nerve.  You can get beneficial relief from either or both a chiropractor or acupuncturist.

Swimming would be a good exercise that will not aggravate your neck condition.  As for helping the condition, it is a maybe.  When you exercise in the water, gravity is taken away from further compressing the nerve but it may not open the space for the nerve.

Wearing a collar may or may not help.  Since the collar only prevent your neck from moving around.  This can damage your neck more in your situation.

Depression is the best choice of treatment for your condition.  This can be done at a chiropractor office.
