Pain Management - Heel Pain

Expert: Dr. Man Tran, Ph.D., D.C., L.Ac. - 5/18/2009

Question
I have pain in my left heel when I wake up in the mornings. I have to walk slowly for approximately 1 to 2 minutes before it goes away. And if I sit a while and try to get up the pain comes again. What's going on?

Answer
Hi Keith,

I sounds like the pain comes about when there is no activities involving your leg.  It might be fascia pain...which is kind of like a muscle.  When you relax your leg, it get tense and may produce pain.  When you are on your feet, the fascia on the bottom of the foot get stretched out relieving the pain.

In your case, I suggest you visit a chiropractor or acupuncturist who might be able to help with the condition.
