Pain Management - buttocks pain

Expert: Dr. Man Tran, Ph.D., D.C., L.Ac. - 6/7/2009

Question
for a year or so I have been able to sit long for pain in
my butt. It is now so bad that I have to lay on my side to get relief. I have a pain doctor, he has given me injections several yimes. Once or twice the injections helped for a day or two, but it was right back in short period of time. Until lately, the pain did not start til
afternoon, now I wake up with it hurting, sitting on it is just
unbaearable. No pains in my legs, I have back trouble, however I don't think it is connected. I call it my "burning but". I am 78 yrs. I had a new MRI 6-1-09 and
do not have results yet.Last MRI was 3-08. I hope you can
give me an answer.
Than you so much for your help.

Answer
Hi Faye,

It might sounds like you may have muscle and/or nerve involvement in your condition.  It is a possibility too that your low back pain is contributing to your buttock pain.

I would recommend to seek a chiropractor or acupuncturist to manage the pain.
