Painting - 9x12 Oil on Canvas...

Question
My Mom just came down and visited me and she usually brings me lots of weird stuff. Well this time i got this small painting and i'm not to familiar with art. It's a 9x12 looks like oil on canvas and is signed " c. John " with the J in John in cursive. In the painting are 2 red apples and 5 green aplles with a dish and wine bottle and pitcher behind them. The frame is a little strange on the back side also. Any info on this piece would be greatly appreciated. I'll attach a picture.

Thanks,

Jason

Answer
Hi Jason,
there is nothing on the internet about a artist with a last name of John.
It is a very nice painting, the frame is terrible. You might want to try these websites: www.askart.com and www.artnet.com

Good luck with your painting, sorry I can't be of more help.  I'm not a curator or appraiser so my knowledge of other artists is limited to the ones I admire.

Regards

Josef-Peter
