is this the painting y
ANSWER: Gladys,

Please look at this picture I included here to see if that's the one you were describing (this is the closest one I can think of to fit your description of your painting.

If it is the one, then you have a reproduction, for this painting is widely reproduced.  The original painting is held in Christie's.

If it is not, look closely to see if the colors and image are made of tiny uniformed dots of red, cyan, and yellow dots.  If the painting is consist of these uniformed dots, then you have a reproduction of a painting by the artist.  If it is original, you cannot see any uniformed dots.

Good luck

QUESTION: thanks for the picture but that not the one it kind of similar just different scene our have  more horse with rider and the arena building more visible.  wonder if there any way I can send a picture.

Answer
Gladys,

It is the best way to look closely and see if it is a reproduction or not, for it makes such a HUGE difference.  Since the artist is pretty well known, his works are more prone to be mass reproduced or even be faked.  First check whether or not it is an original work.  If it is, then you will have to check with an art appraiser to research on the authenticity of the art and signature, including tracing the circulation history of the piece and the accuracy of the characteristics of the artist's work and the signature.

Good luck

Expertise

I can answer ALL questions related to watercolor paintings, except appraisal or artist identification. I can answer general questions about oil, acrylic, Chinese painting, and other media. I am NOT an art appraiser at all for any kind. I can only answer questions in aspects of materials, techniques, and critiques. I do NOT have the access to records of auction, painting pricing, or artist files & works, unlike art gallery dealers or art appraisers. I would not know how much an art piece is worth, but I am only an expert in the "art form" but nothing to do with VALUE.

Professional watercolorist for decades. Knowledgeable about all media, but not in value or pricing.
