Question

Dyker Dolly and Dyker
I have 2 oil paintings (one done by a Harriett V Furness and the other is an unknown name) of a Maltese Dog "Dyker Dolly" who was a show dog winner back in the early 1900"s the dogs were owned by Mrs. Carl Baughman. I also have a book "The Maltese Dog" which is an original written by a Virginia T Leitch which which gives all information on these dogs and also has pistures of these paingings.  I have tried everywhere and am hoping I might get an answer from you!  I appreciate your time and thank you in advance.  SIncerely, Brian Swope

Answer
Hello Brian,

I was not able to find anything specific about your paintings, I did find one that sold by that artist.  However, I think yours may be of more value since it was included in that book.

If these were mine, I would find a reputable art appraiser to find out the value.

Hope this is of some help to you...

Warmest Regards,
Barbara Thibodeaux (owner of a maltese named Boudreaux ;-)
